I believe I put a link to Arch wiki regarding chroot to my post on talk.maemo.org. You need to do the chrooting on Maemo, as root.
It might be a good idea to postpone your installation for a few days, I'm in a process or reworking my repository so it might not work currently as it should.

Guys, a million apologies for the noob question.
You are supposed to chroot into the partition during installation.
I can't figure out how to do this.
Can't do it from my arch PC - different architecture - or from n900 - can't find chroot itself lol. Is it called differently?
